Gumloop Alternatives in 2026: Pricing, vs n8n, vs Zapier and More

The Gumloop alternatives worth a shortlist in 2026, checked against each vendor's own site: Floowed, n8n, Viktor, Zapier, Make and Lindy, plus how Gumloop pricing and credits work, Gumloop vs n8n, Gumloop vs Zapier, and where an agent run ends and a case begins.

For work that runs as whole cases, chased and decided across systems, files and people, Floowed is the strongest Gumloop alternative, running the case alongside the agents and flows you already have; for a like-for-like agent builder, n8n is the closest switch.

Gumloop builds AI agents: anyone at a company describes a task in plain language and gets an agent that works across their tools, in Slack, Microsoft Teams, email or Gumloop's own interface. Its homepage lists 400+ connectors, and in March 2026 it announced a $50 million Series B led by Benchmark, as BetaKit reported. It is good at agents; teams look elsewhere when the work outlives the agent run. Every price below was checked on the vendor's own site at the time of writing.

Why teams look for Gumloop alternatives

The product changed shape. Gumloop made its name with a visual canvas for AI automations. Today the homepage leads with agents, and its pricing page lists the original builder as "Workflows (Legacy)".

The bill is hard to forecast. A Gumloop agent chat is priced on what the agent actually does: model tokens, tool calls, active minutes and a percentage fee on top. Next month's bill depends on model choice and conversation length.

There is no free plan to grow into. New accounts get a 14-day trial of Pro, which needs a card and rolls into a paid subscription unless cancelled.

The run finishes; the work does not. Gumloop's unit of work is the agent chat: something triggers the agent, it does the task, and the chat holds the result. An operation that lives for weeks, such as a client who sends the contract but not the ID, becomes a string of chats, with the state of the case scattered across threads. Gumloop does not publish a versioned rules engine that decides cases, or a case record showing which rule and version decided. Another builder of the same shape does not fix that, which is why Floowed leads the shortlist.

Gumloop pricing

At the time of writing, Gumloop publishes two plans. Pro starts at $37 a month with 20,000 credits, unlimited seats and teams, 35+ models, bring-your-own-key support, one hosted MCP server, 5 concurrent workflow runs and 25 concurrent agent chats. Enterprise is custom, adding options such as a virtual private cloud and organization-wide connector policies.

The credit is the part to read carefully. Gumloop's documentation sets 1 credit at $0.005, so $1 buys 200 credits. Pro's 20,000 credits are 7,400 at list price plus 12,600 bonus credits. Each agent chat is billed in real time as the sum of four things:

ComponentHow Gumloop charges it
Chat and reasoningThe model's cost, converted at $0.005 per credit
Tool calls1 credit per successful connector call, plus any charge the tool adds
Compute5 credits per minute of active processing; waiting on you costs nothing
Orchestration fee8% of the three above, or 16% when you bring your own model key

Two terms matter at renewal. Credits do not roll over month to month, except on Enterprise. Overage runs at $0.005 per credit, capped by default at 1,000,000 overage credits ($5,000) per billing period on Pro.

Floowed prices the other way round: credits for the work done on a case, not the agent's tokens, and no seats. One credit is one cent on every plan. You start free with $80 of credits, no card and no sales call, and free credits never expire; paid plans start at $100 a month for 10,000 credits, and paid credits roll over one month. A credit means something different in each product, so compare the cost of a finished outcome. A standard Floowed case uses about 250 to 800 credits, and that covers the whole case: gathering, chasing, deciding and acting. More on the pricing page.

The best Gumloop alternatives, ranked

1. Floowed

Best for: recurring operations that span systems, documents and people outside your team, such as client onboarding, supplier onboarding or change requests, working alongside the agents and flows you already run.

Floowed is not another agent builder. Floowed is the operations platform: AI agents do tasks; Floowed runs whole operations. Floowed orchestrates the process, and agents, assistants, people and systems execute it, so a Gumloop agent can be one of the executors inside a Floowed case. Every case runs five stages: Gather, Interpret, Chase, Decide and Act. When something is missing, Floowed chases the person, system or agent who owes it, waits as a long-running case, and resumes on the answer. You describe the operation in Slack, Microsoft Teams or the Floowed Dashboard, and it is live in minutes.

Pricing: credits for the work done on a case, not per seat. Start free with $80 of credits, no card and no sales call; paid plans from $100 a month; custom set-ups are quoted (pricing).

Pick it if: your agents and flows work, but somebody still keeps a spreadsheet of who owes what.

2. n8n

Best for: technical teams who want to own where automation runs.

n8n is the closest like-for-like switch for a team that liked Gumloop's canvas and wants more control. It self-hosts, and its plans include unlimited users and workflows and every integration. Agents, MCP and AI nodes come on every cloud plan, with human approval for agent tool calls.

Pricing: cloud plans meter full executions, not steps: Starter $20 a month for 2,500 executions, Pro $50 a month for 10,000, both billed annually, and Business at $800 a month billed annually, self-hosted, for 40,000. Enterprise is on quote and the Community Edition is free. More in n8n alternatives.

Pick it if: engineering owns automation and each job finishes in one run.

3. Viktor

Best for: teams whose agents mostly answer requests in Slack or Microsoft Teams.

Gumloop's agents already run in Slack and Teams, so Viktor is the natural comparison. Viktor is an AI coworker that lives in both: you ask in a thread, and it researches, builds and acts across 3,200+ tools. It is a capable assistant for varied tasks, but it is built around the task someone asks for, not a repeatable operation that chases people outside the chat and is decided by your rules. We cover the difference in Floowed vs Viktor.

Pricing: credits, not seats. Free with up to $100 of credits, no card, and free credits never expire; $100 a month for 40,000 shared credits, with unused credits rolling over.

Pick it if: the work is "do this for me and show me". When the same operation runs every week, Floowed runs it as a case under your rules, and Viktor can still do a task inside it.

4. Zapier

Best for: simple automations across a mixed SaaS stack, owned by people outside engineering.

Zapier connects 9,000+ apps and has added Zapier Agents alongside Zaps, Tables and Forms. AI steps, code and its SDK now all draw on the same task-based pricing.

Pricing: Free with 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps, Professional from $19.99 a month, Team from $69 a month with 25 users, and Enterprise on quote. More in Zapier alternatives.

Pick it if: each step is known in advance and nothing waits on a person outside your team.

5. Make

Best for: operations teams who want a visual canvas with nothing to host.

Make connects 3,000+ apps and now builds AI agents too. For Gumloop users who miss a canvas, it is the most familiar hosted option. Our Make vs Zapier guide compares it with Zapier directly.

Pricing: credits, with each module action counting as one. The Free plan includes 1,000 credits a month with no time limit; Core, Pro and Teams are priced by credit volume.

Pick it if: the work is SaaS-to-SaaS integration rather than a case that has to be chased and decided.

6. Lindy

For the full picture on Lindy, see our Lindy alternatives guide.

Best for: teams who want an AI assistant in Slack for inbox, meetings and daily briefs.

Lindy works as a Slack-native teammate with scheduled routines, 1,500+ integrations, MCP support and approvals built in. Like Viktor, it sits closer to an assistant than a builder.

Pricing: Free with $50 of credits that last 7 days, no card; Team from $29.99 a month for 3,000 credits, with every active user billed; Enterprise custom.

Pick it if: the work is personal productivity rather than an operation.

Gumloop vs n8n

This head-to-head resolves on one question: who builds? Gumloop is built so anyone who understands a task can describe an agent. n8n is built for people comfortable with a graph and a code step.

AxisGumloopn8n
Built aroundAgents described in plain language; the original canvas listed as Workflows (Legacy)A workflow graph, with AI agent nodes and code steps
HostingVendor cloud; virtual private cloud optional on EnterpriseSelf-hosted or n8n cloud
Pricing unitCredits per agent chat: model cost, tool calls, compute, plus an 8% feeFull workflow executions, regardless of steps
EntryPro at $37 a month for 20,000 credits; 14-day trial with a cardStarter at $20 a month billed annually; free Community Edition
UsersUnlimited seats on ProUnlimited users on every plan
Human stepsApproval settings per connector; requests in-app, in Slack or in the threadHuman approval for agent tool calls

Pick Gumloop when the builders are in sales, marketing or operations and the task fits one agent run. Pick n8n when engineering owns it and wants to self-host, write code and pay per execution (see n8n vs Zapier). Both are built around a run that starts and finishes. When the work is a case that waits days for a client's answer, Floowed holds it open and resumes it.

Gumloop vs Zapier

These two now meet in the middle: Zapier added agents to triggers and actions, and Gumloop moved from a canvas to agents.

AxisGumloopZapier
Built aroundAgents that choose their tools mid-taskZaps (trigger, then actions), plus Zapier Agents
Apps400+ connectors, plus external MCP servers9,000+ apps

EntryPro at $37 a month; no free plan, 14-day trialFree with 100 tasks a month; Professional from $19.99 a month
Models35+ models, bring your own keyAI steps inside Zaps and Agents

Pick Gumloop when the step needs judgement: research an account, read a call, choose a tool. Pick Zapier when the step is known in advance and app breadth matters most. Both run a step; neither holds a case open while a client finds a missing document. Floowed does, and decides it by your rules when it arrives.

A builder runs a step; Floowed runs the case

Take client onboarding at an accounting or corporate services firm. Before work starts, the firm needs a signed engagement letter, ID for every director, a registry extract, and agreed fees. Its rules say standard terms are fine; anything non-standard needs a partner's sign-off; no engagement opens until the letter and IDs are in.

In a builder, each is a step. In Floowed it is one case.

  1. Gather. The client's details arrive from HubSpot, the engagement letter from DocuSign, and IDs by email or upload.
  2. Interpret. Floowed reads the letter and the IDs, checks the registry, and notes that one director's ID is missing and the registered address disagrees with the form.
  3. Chase. It asks the client contact for the missing ID and the address, waits as a long-running case, reminds them if nothing comes, and resumes when the answer lands.
  4. Decide. Your rules check the fee terms. Standard terms pass; non-standard terms go to the named partner, and the case waits for that answer.
  5. Act. Floowed opens the client in your practice systems and billing in Xero, then confirms to the team in Slack or Microsoft Teams and in the Floowed Dashboard.

Interpret, Chase and Decide circle until the case is ready, then Floowed acts. The case record shows what was read, who was asked, which rule and version decided it, and what was written where. You choose whether the rules decide every case, only the routine ones, or none. See more operations like this for accounting and corporate services and agencies.

Underneath, Floowed is an AI-native, multi-agent runtime, model-agnostic, running long-running asynchronous cases over the API, MCP and 400+ integrations. Your rules run on a deterministic, versioned policy engine, so the same inputs on the same rule version give the same decision. More on how it works.

How to choose a Gumloop alternative

If you are comparing agent tools more widely, our OpenClaw alternatives guide and Floowed vs Tasklet comparison apply the same test.

  1. Is this a task or a case? If an agent can finish it in one run, every tool here can help. If it waits on people outside your team and ends in a decision, more connectors will not close the gap.
  2. Who builds? Engineers: n8n. Non-technical builders on a wide app stack: Zapier or Make. Requests answered in chat: Viktor. The people who own the operation: Floowed.
  3. Model the meter. Credits per chat, per task, per execution and per case diverge at scale. Price the shortlist against last quarter's real volumes and the cost of a finished outcome.
  4. Ask what happens when something is missing. Have every vendor show a case that waits two weeks on a client, and what happens when the answer arrives.
  5. Can you answer the audit question? A chat log is not a record of which rule version decided and who signed off. Our guide to human-in-the-loop automation covers what good looks like.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Gumloop?

For recurring operations that have to be chased and decided across systems, files and people, Floowed, which runs the whole case alongside your agents. For a like-for-like builder with self-hosting and code, n8n. For the widest app directory, Zapier. For a hosted visual canvas, Make. For an AI coworker in Slack or Microsoft Teams, Viktor; for a personal assistant, Lindy.

How much does Gumloop cost?

At the time of writing, Gumloop Pro starts at $37 a month with 20,000 credits, and Enterprise is custom. One credit is $0.005. An agent chat is billed on model cost, 1 credit per connector call, 5 credits per active minute, plus an 8% orchestration fee. Credits do not roll over except on Enterprise.

Does Gumloop have a free plan?

Not at the time of writing. Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial of Pro, which requires a card and rolls into a paid subscription unless you cancel. Floowed starts free with $80 of credits, no card and no sales call, and free credits never expire.

Gumloop vs n8n: which is better?

For different builders. Gumloop suits business users who describe an agent in plain language and pay credits per chat. n8n suits engineers who self-host, write code and pay per full execution, from $20 a month billed annually or free on the Community Edition. If work stalls waiting on people, neither changes that; Floowed does.

Gumloop vs Zapier: which is better?

Gumloop is stronger when a step needs judgement, such as research or triage. Zapier is stronger on breadth, with 9,000+ apps and a free plan with 100 tasks a month. Many teams run both, and Floowed runs the case around them.

Can I keep Gumloop and use Floowed?

Yes. Floowed orchestrates the operation and a Gumloop agent can execute a task inside it, such as researching an account, while your rules run on a deterministic, versioned policy engine and the case record shows who did what.
