THE DECISION PLATFORM

Okta, ready to run

Choose. Adapt. Run.

The Okta integration is where offboarding actually bites. Floowed reads who someone is and what they can reach, decides what has to happen, and either does it or hands a person the list with everything already checked.

THE INTEGRATION

What the Okta integration does

Okta is identity and access management. Floowed connects to it, reads what a decision needs, and puts the outcome back where your team already works. Nothing migrates and nothing is replaced.

Some of what we read from Okta

  • Users, and their status
  • Group memberships, and what those groups grant
  • Applications a person is assigned to
  • System log events, where one starts a case

Some of what we write back to Okta

  • A user deactivated or suspended, once the decision says so
  • Group memberships removed
  • Sessions cleared, where the outcome calls for it
  • The reasoning recorded alongside the case, so the action is explainable

Examples, not a list of limits. A decision can read anything the Okta API exposes and write back wherever it allows it, so tell us what yours needs to see.

This is the integration where the approval gate matters most. Revoking access is easy to do and expensive to do wrongly, so we would expect it to be a step a person confirms, at least until you trust the rules. Two limits worth knowing: deactivating a user in Okta cannot be undone, and group memberships that come from Active Directory or an upstream app are read-only, so those have to be removed at the source.

THE LIBRARY

Decisions that run on Okta

These are library flows, already built. Choose one, adapt it to your systems and your rules, and Floowed runs every case: reading and interpreting what arrives, chasing what is missing, and deciding what happens next.

  • Employee offboardingPeople
  • Contractor clearanceConstruction
  • Crew sign-onShipping
  • Customer onboardingBanking

These are where Okta comes up most. A decision is described rather than picked from a menu, so if yours is not here, it is a conversation rather than a no.

AND FURTHER

It goes further than Okta

The same decisions reach the systems most platforms cannot. Core banking, credit bureaus, KYC providers and insurance cores have no app to install: they start with an agreement and credentials issued to you. Some are a modern OAuth API once you have them, others are SFTP, SOAP or mTLS. We connect whichever it turns out to be.

  • Notion
  • Experian
  • Equifax
  • Guidewire
  • Temenos
  • Salesforce
  • Mambu
  • Duck Creek
  • Plaid
  • Shopify
  • Stripe
  • Onfido

Not listed is not the same as not possible. We connect over REST, OAuth, API keys, webhooks, SFTP, SOAP, mTLS and direct database reads, so if a system has an interface of any kind we can reach it. Ask us about the one you are worried about.

SETUP

How the Okta integration connects

  1. Choose

Pick the decision from the library. It arrives already built, carrying what earlier runs taught it.

  2. Adapt

Connect Okta using Management API, as an OAuth service app with its own scopes, then set the rules and the gates to yours. You decide how much it decides.

  3. Run

Every case runs the same way, with the reasoning attached and a full audit trail. Anything sensitive waits for a person.

QUESTIONS

Okta integration FAQ

Does Floowed integrate with Okta?

Yes, through Okta's management API, as an OAuth service application your admin creates with its own scopes and role.

How does the Okta integration connect?

Your admin registers a service application and grants it scopes plus an admin role. We ask for read plus a narrow set of write scopes rather than blanket administrator rights. Worth avoiding the older API tokens: they carry no scopes at all, inherit whichever admin created them, and stop working when that person leaves.

What can Floowed do with Okta data?

Employee offboarding is the case. A termination event starts it, Floowed reads what the person can reach, decides what has to be revoked and in what order, and either acts or presents the list for approval.

Do I need to build a workflow to use it?

No. Choose employee offboarding from the library, connect Okta, and set which steps run automatically and which wait for a person.

Is this safe to automate?

Only as far as you allow. Revocation is exactly the kind of action that should sit behind an approval, and the platform is built so you decide how much it decides. Every action carries its reasoning and an audit trail.

What does the Okta integration cost?

Nothing extra. Integrations are included, and you pay for the work Floowed does on a case.
